is a collaborative project between
artist Tariq Tarey and writer Amanda Erin
which begins with an exhibit of Tarey’s photo-documentation
of refugees in Columbus, Ohio; Greece; and Somalia
framed with words
which highlight the continuity
of generations displaced by
WAR
FAMINE
RELIGIOUS and/or CULTURAL PERSECUTION

…a story upon which America has been built…
…a search for commonalities and understandings…
…a building of empathy…

Ancestral Stories of dis[place]ment
weaving the narrative of leaving, arriving, settling
the hopes of new beginnings
